I've seen the "No Fear" shirts, stickers and other paraphernalia and each time thought that "Know Fear" would be much more appropriate.

Have some fear associated with motorcycling is a good thing.  Fear is an evolutionary trait that helps you avoid danger and keeps you alive.  Of course, there's no reason to have un-abaited, un-founded fear, but some is good for you.

Richard Chang, a complete newbie, recently took and MSF course and wrote a great article (although inappropriately titled IMHO) about his impressions and thoughts on motorcycling in general.

One of his observations (which he put very succinctly) underpins my entire reason for this site: "people tend to take motorcycle riding more lightly than the corresponding risk deems they should."

Richard, it sounds like you had a good time with the course and learned a lot.  Keep the shiny side up and have fun riding.
